My inspiration comes from nature. It comes from the dynamics and patterns in the natural world with flower shapes's, leaves, bark, trees, stones and wildflowers in the hedgerows. I love the way the light catches and reflects on long grass. Natural and haphazard rhythms occur and I see them for example in the tiny blue speed wall flower amongst green blades of grass.

My work has strong physical elements. This is especially true in tissue art where I use different qualities of inks, resins and paints to express the beauty of flowers and plants. Byzantine art has been a great influence and how their mosaics captured light. Nature as a symbol of life also interests me. Unfortunately this aspect of my art cannot really be captured on a web site gallery, so I hope you will get the opportunity to view my work first hand.
